Newly elected or appointed library trustees can benefit from our specialized board orientation sessions. These interactive sessions bring our iLEAD Board Liaison to your new board member orientation via livestream or in-person, where we’ll provide an overview of the board’s role and responsibilities to the library and the legal obligations and liabilities of a board and its members. We’ll then walk your board members through the essential information and resources that will help new board members effectively fulfill their roles and contribute to the success of their library. At the end of the session, library directors or presidents may choose to assign one or more modules for member completion before the next library board meeting (optional). Participants will leave with a state L2 account, successful enrollment in the free iLEAD Learning Portal, and progress on the introductory learning modules.
